Appception supports remote file access using WebDAV
WebDAV allow provides easy access to remote files from a local machine. Programs such as desktop editors can then be used to remotely edit files as if they were on a local disk.
WebDAV clients are already installed in most operating systems; to setup, see the configuration information below.
 
WebDAV Configuration:
Windows 7
To configure WebDAV on a Windows 7 machine:
  • Select Start->Computer
  • Choose Tools->Map Network Drive
  • Enter the URL displayed on the 'Project->Settings' page for the WebDAV folder
  • Check the 'Reconnect at logon' box (for automatic connections of WebDAV drive)
  • You may also need to check the 'Connect using different credentials' box
  • Click 'Finish'
  • When prompted, enter your account name and password
You should now be able to access files at the WebDAV URL using the WebDAV drive letter (e.g. Y:/assets/www/index.html).
 
Mac OS X
To configure WebDAV on a Mac OS X machine:
  • In Finder, select 'Go->Connect to Server'
  • Enter the URL displayed on the 'Project->Settings' page in the 'Server Address' box
  • Click 'Connect'
  • When prompted, enter your account name and password
You should now be able to access files at the WebDAV URL using the WebDAV drive letter (e.g. Y:/assets/www/index.html).
